Aesop’s Fable: The Owl and the Grasshopper

$50.00

According to Aesop’s fable, an owl was trying to sleep when awakened by a singing grasshopper. The owl asks him to be quiet, but the grasshopper refuses, claiming he has as much right to be out in the sun as the owl had right to be out in the moonlight. Realizing the futility of arguing, the owl came out to listen to the grasshopper’s song. She praised him, lullin him into a false sense of security, until he was close enough to capture and she gobbled him up.

The moral of the story is that flattery is not proof of true admiration, so do not let flattery throw you off your guard against an enemy.

This listing is for a completed, one-of-a-kind piece of original artwork by Erin Wetzel (ekwetzel). Art is watercolor and ink on 5 x 7  inch hotpress watercolor paper.

All original artwork is signed in ink on the front, as well as labeled on the back. Please note that colors on your monitor may differ from colors in person.
